Emergencies

Out of hours services are provided by our own vets until late evening when they are passed over to a dedicated out of hours provider.

Our hospital provides top notch care for your pet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have dedicated night nurses to keep a careful eye on your pets overnight, and a vet is also on call for any inpatient monitoring or treatment as required.

Pets are hospitalised in purpose-built wards, all equipped with stainless steel kennels and plenty of soft bedding. Hygiene is of the utmost importance, with the kennels and bedding being thoroughly disinfected daily. Cat and dog wards are separate, to keep feline stress levels to a minimum, whilst dog ward includes spacious, walk-in kennels to make sure even the largest of breeds are kept comfortable during their stay. We also boast a separate isolation ward to treat cases that are suspected of having contagious infections that could be a risk to other hospitalised patients. All wards temperatures are kept at a constant with heating and air conditioning as required.

Our wonderful RCVS trained nursing team, as well as our student nurses and animal care assistants, are devoted to the well-being of our patients and will often go above and beyond to make sure they are comfortable. From taking on night shifts to make sure the night nurses have all the support they need, to intensively nursing a single patient all through the day and night and, finally, to seeing the joy of critically ill patients being returned to their owners in good health at the end of a stay. No matter what you pet needs; whether it be emergency treatment, bed change, a toilet break or even just some company at 3am in the morning, we have it covered.

Should your pet have to be hospitalised at Connaught House Veterinary Hospital you can be free
from worry knowing we are committed to providing the highest level of care to all of our patients.
